What you should know about TikTok photo posts
TikTok added photo mode in 2022 and it quickly became the home of carousels: streetwear drops, recipe cards, travel sets, artist dumps. Screenshotting a carousel means the crop, the UI chrome, and the compression of your screen come between you and the image. GDown goes around all of that — the tool reads the post's image manifest and relays the source files, which are the highest-resolution copies TikTok stores (commonly 1080 pixels wide or larger, in JPEG or WebP).
A photo post link looks almost identical to a video link — tiktok.com/@user/photo/… — and older posts sometimes keep the /video/ path even when they are carousels. You do not need to sort this out: paste whatever the share sheet gave you and the resolver classifies the post automatically. The result panel shows the full gallery with a per-image save button, plus one-click ZIP for the whole set.
The ZIP packaging is deliberately client-side. Your browser fetches each image through the gdown.xyz relay and compresses them into an archive in memory using JSZip, then triggers a single download. No images are parked on a server, no queue, no "your archive will be emailed to you" — because there is no server storage to begin with.

Do downloaded TikTok photos keep their original resolution?
Yes — you get the source files as the CDN stores them, not screenshots. Most are 1080px wide or larger in JPEG or WebP.
Can I download the music attached to a photo post?
Yes — photo posts carry a soundtrack, and the result card includes the same "Download Audio (MP3)" button as video results.
Why does the file save as .webp? Will it open on my phone?
WebP opens natively in every modern browser, iOS 14+, and Android. If your workflow needs JPG, any converter — or re-saving from an image viewer — handles it without visible quality loss at these bitrates.
Private or followers-only photo posts?
Not supported — the platforms do not expose non-public media through any public endpoint, and GDown does not attempt workarounds.
